Service Representative 

Overview: As a Delivery Driver you will be responsible for the delivery of products to 15-30 stops per day to our customers throughout parts of Washington D.C..  In addition, the Class A CDL Service Representative will unload products & pick up returns as needed by hand truck, while meeting the delivery window to our customers.  The service representative will work with the delivery team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries to the company’s customers.  The driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe, and respectful manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations. The driver may or may not have a helper, but for most drivers, the physical aspects of the job are included in the delivery.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare each day for operation by confirming beginning inventory, securing items, and communicating any issues.
  • Inspect truck tires, lights, fluids, etc. to ensure safe working conditions with preventive maintenance in mind
  • Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs
  • Maintain communication with company during deliveries in order to prevent problems
  • Increase customer satisfaction by collecting information, feedback on service, and resolving complaints per company policy;  communicate information back to company
  • Communicate with sales staff and delivery management of any issues with delivery
  • Maintain a safe driving record free of violations
  • Perform occasional warehouse and counter duties
  • Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
  • Follow company policies for the collection of payment
  • Follow all other company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 170 lbs)
  • Pass a drug screen and background check
  • Valid class A commercial driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Education:  High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Experience:  Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred but not mandatory

Delivery Driver Helper

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write
  • Criminal background check required
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 170 pounds
  • Must be able to report to work on time and remain on the job until all deliveries have been completed and your route settled
  • Must wear company uniforms and appearance is to be neat, clean and professional
  • Must be able to learn/use handheld computer
  • Must be customer service oriented and have good communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify load before leaving the warehouse
  • Discrepancies are to be reported to delivery manager before leaving the warehouse
  • Review deliveries and any special instructions for the day
  • Communicate out of stocks to sales person first thing
  • Adhere to all parking regulations and state driving laws
  • Deliver product to accounts in a safe, professional and courteous manner
  • Check accounts COD/Credit status and collect any monies due at the time of delivery
  • Rotate product
  • If for any reason a scheduled delivery is not made the sales person is to be notified immediately
  • Upon returning to the warehouse organize your truck and make sure it is counted in by a warehouse manager
  • Take complete, organized paperwork to check in and remain on the premises until you have been notified your route has been balanced
  • Maintain all company assets in clean and good working condition
  • Build and maintain professional and courteous relationship with retailers

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $18.00 per hour
